Emergency Preparedness Outfitters was started in 2001 and is operated by Disabled American Veterans and employs only veterans. Our story started in 2001 when the Towers fell just a short distance away and really got going after Hurricane Katrina, which shook us out of our post 9-11 stupor. Hurricane Katrina made us very aware of the sheer inability for any of the Federal, State, or Local Governments to help us with any expedited assistance. We realized that we had to be responsible for our own community, self protection and survival for a period of time.
