Hats often have a brim all the way around the rim such as boonie and jungle hats. A baseball cap or duty cap is to keep the sun out of the eyes; Helmets are designed to protect the head, and sometimes the neck, from injury. EPO carries a variety of balaclavas as well as medical masks to protect from disease. The Army wears the shemagh being in both desert and temperate environments particularly by Special Forces units. Their practicality in an arid environment, as in Iraq, explains their enduring popularity with soldiers. Coupled with goggles they work very well at keeping sand debris out of the eyes and face. EPO stocks a large variety of shemaghs, scarves, and goggles. The Army wears the shemagh being in both desert and temperate environments particularly by Special Forces units.
